First Watch Comes to Merritt Island

First Watch hosted an early opening on Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct.20 and will open to the public on Monday Oct 21, and your MIRA news team was on hand this weekend to see the new crew in action and sample some of the fare. According to our server, First Watch will be offering free coffee the first week (through Friday), so if you love java, you better hurry.

First Watch opens the doors to the public on Monday.

Merritt Island has seen a lot of activity lately, with a new Wawa and Chipotle open for business and HealthFirst continuing to move ahead on the construction of a new hospital, and now First Watch, which has some healthy choices.

According to the First Watch website, “we welcome each season into the First Watch menu with ingredients and flavors inspired by the position of the sun. That’s why on our menu you’ll find vibrant, green California-grown asparagus in April, or the most refreshing Florida watermelon in July, or tender, sweet yellow corn from the Midwest in August.”

First Watch decor features local color.

We started our breakfast journey with “Morning Meditation”, a glass with orange, lemon, tumeric, organic ginger, agave nectar and beet juices. Very healthy and refreshing.

We also enjoyed breakfast staples like the Belgian Waffle and “Million Dollar Bacon” (worth it). The Smoked Salmon Benedict has this description: Two poached cage-free eggs atop toasted ciabatta with Wild Alaska Smoked Sockeye Salmon, red onion and vine-ripened tomato and covered with hollandaise. Served with lemon-dressed organic mixed greens.

We didn’t go away hungry. Welcome to Merritt Island, First Watch and thanks for the tasty  memories.
