The Amphitheatre at Veterans Memorial Park

The amphitheatre outdoor event complex is located in Veterans Memorial Park on Merritt Island.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the Amphitheatre at Veterans Memorial Park in Merritt Island was held on October 29, 2024. The project is slated for completion in late 2025.

The Amphitheatre was conceived through a collaborative effort beginning in 2016 between MIRA, The Veterans Memorial Center, Brevard County Natural Resources, and the Brevard County Parks and Recreation Department. The project is the culmination of MIRA and Brevard County’s multiple-year efforts, with MIRA providing $2 Million to fund the acquisition of the 80-acre parklands, which were slated to be a Pulte homes development, creating the Master Plan for the Veterans Memorial Park, and making an additional $1.5 Million in a series of permanent improvements, that will serve the veterans, visitors, and citizens of Brevard County for decades.

In August 2024, the Brevard County Board of Commissioners approved and amended the original $1.2 Million Tourist Development Council (TDC) Grant awarded in 2020 to $2.5 Million to complete the project.

The TDC contributions provided $2.5 million for the project, including restrooms, concessions, a picnic pavilion, and the amphitheater. MIRA received additional grants from the Florida Department of Commerce for $1 million.
