Parkway Creamery, Something Old, Something New

February 7, 2024 – If you’ve lived in Merritt Island for more than a couple of years, you probably have found yourself getting a soft serve ice cream cone or other treat at the royally-named shop (Dairy Queen) at 265 Courtenay Parkway. It was a common stop between 1965 and 2023. Sadly, the Queen is dead (at that location), but don’t despair, a brand-new shop has taken her place and is set to open tomorrow, February 8.

Parkway Creamery has the same owners as the previous store, employs some of the same workers and has a menu with many similar items to what you found before, including “Blenders”, ice cream mixed with treats such as Oreos, peanut butter cups and Andes Mints—so pretty much the same as that other “B” concoction.

Locally owned and operated, Parkway Creamery will carry on a very cool Merritt Island tradition. So welcome Parkway Creamery, everything old is new again.
