It is time to prepare for our 14th Annual Kids Offshore Fishing Adventure.

There are over 10 Sonfishers clubs teaching fishing skills and moral principles to young people in junior high school and high school here in Brevard County.

Once again, the great people at Orlando Princess/Canaveral Princess out of Port Canaveral have reserved room on the boat to take the deserving kids offshore. We hope we will have calm seas and a plentiful harvest of fish.

Our goal is to raise $5,000.00 for this event. Any additional funds will support local youth-related activities. We are partnering with Randy Moore of the Sonfishers, a program providing fishing clubs and fishing clinics for kids throughout the year in Brevard County schools.

Sonfishers also sponsors Bible clubs in our schools and Merritt Island Breakfast Rotary participates in other youth-related education activities such as the drowning awareness program, Josh the Otter; the dictionary project delivering dictionaries to every third-grade student in Merritt Island; provides support to the Emma Jewel Charter Academy and the Brevard Group Treatment Home; and Crosswinds shelter care facility. All of these activities help to provide enriching programs for our local youngsters located in Central Brevard County, Florida.

Rotary Club also provides several scholarships for college assistance; mentoring to young people; and helping to provide enriching programs for our local youngsters.
