August 11, 2025 – Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas* arrived this weekend in Port Canaveral for the first time. With one week to go before the first vacationers set sail, more than 2,000 Royal Caribbean team members came together to welcome the newest Icon Class ship to its new homeport.
On August 16, Royal Caribbean will host a “Star-Studded Sailabration” in Port Canaveral’s Jetty Park, with a DJ, food trucks, ice cream and giveaways. Music icon Diana Ross will be on hand for the official naming ceremony. The fun starts at 3:30 pm.

Star of the Seas and its sister ship, Icon of the Seas, are the world’s largest cruise ships. Star of the Seas has 20 decks, 2,805 staterooms, a double-occupancy capacity of 5, 610 passengers and a crew of 2, 350.
