Port Canaveral Expands Parking With $93 Million Facility

March 9, 2026 – (Port Canaveral Press Release)

A new 3,732-space Cruise Terminal 6 East (CT6E) parking garage at Port Canaveral reached a significant milestone when a massive 600-square-foot, 36.7-ton pre-cast concrete wall section was recently lowered into place, marking the beginning of the vertical construction of the 13-story facility.

Designed to accommodate passengers sailing from Port Canaveral’s Cruise Terminals 5 and 6, the $93 million facility is the largest and most complex parking garage ever constructed at the Port and is scheduled to open in fall 2026.

Once the new garage is in service, Port Canaveral will offer nearly 17,500 parking spaces across eight different garages and surface lots port wide to accommodate cruise guests’ parking needs, further solidifying its distinction as one of the country’s leading drive-to markets. Approximately 80 percent of Port Canaveral passengers drive to their cruise.

Encompassing more than 1.2 million total square feet, the new garage will feature eight extra-large elevators, each able to accommodate multiple passengers and their luggage. Twin two-lane vehicle ramps will expedite vehicular traffic through the garage floors, while two vehicle connecting bridges will allow access to the adjacent recently constructed CT6 west garage. In addition, a pedestrian bridge will provide passengers with easy access to the Cruise Terminal 5 entrance.

The new garage project is part of the Port Canaveral Advantage, a capital improvement program that will see nearly $1 billion in enhancements over the next five years. Additional Port projects include the expansion of Cruise Terminal 5, which is underway, and expanding Cruise Terminal 10 set to begin this fall, as well as other parking upgrades and the rollout of technology that allows for more efficient embarkation and debarkation.

The world’s busiest cruise port, Port Canaveral is currently home to seven leading cruise brands operating over 1,000 sailings from 18 ships, including some of the newest, largest, and most technically advanced ships in the world offering a wide range of itineraries, from weekend getaways to week-long adventures and beyond, visiting some of the world’s most spectacular destinations.
