The 801 Horsepower team competes in the international FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotic Competition and Matrix Team 9013 competes in the FIRST Tech Challenge. Because the design and engineering of robots demands a lot of space, the new building will fill an important need.
There are also plans for the building to be used for an Artificial Intelligence program and for esports gaming.
